The titles and the paintings are drawn from the song Mordab by Googoosh The song tells the story of a river that sets out on a journey with the dream of reaching the sea. But along the way, cruel fate pulls it into a pit in the heart of the desert. Once flowing and full of hope, the river is now trapped in a stagnant swamp, a place with no path forward and no hope of return. In silence and solitude, under the scorching and merciless sun of the desert, it sits and watches its own slow death unfold.
