Rostam va Sohrab, Hvervenbukta Pavilion رستم و سهراب
At the duo exhibition at Hvervenbukta Pavilion, I presented a 2 x 2 meter ceramic tile work titled رستم و سهراب (Rostam va Sohrab), inspired by the tragic tale from Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh (شاهنامه).
The story recounts a fatal battle between a father and son, who unknowingly fight each other, ending in irreversible loss. This myth of mistaken identity and tragedy resonates deeply with my personal experiences of migration, generational rupture, and inherited silence.
Through this work, I sought to give form to emotional intensities such as silence, distance, and uncontrollable anger, feelings that echo my own experiences of migration, cultural rupture, and family separation.
